SpanTran: TEC Attends the TAICEP Annual Conference

TAICEP – The Association of International Credentials Evaluation Professionals – focuses on enhancing the industry’s knowledge base, sharing educational information across borders, and collaboration between foreign credentials evaluators in order to better serve the community of globally mobile people. This year’s annual conference in Philadelphia truly demonstrated TAICEP’s core values, and SpanTran’s Evaluation Team was able to take advantage of the incredibly informative sessions.

Session topics ranged from in-depth discussions about best practices for refugees who are unable to obtain their academic documents, to advanced understanding of Mexican credentials at the secondary and post-secondary level. For a full list of the session topics, you can review TAICEP’s conference schedule.

SpanTran: TEC is a proud sponsor of TAICEP!

Not only did SpanTran’s Evaluation Team greatly benefit from conversing with our industry peers and credential evaluators based overseas, but our team shared substantial information with our peers. Our Senior Evaluators presented sessions on vocational and non-traditional secondary education, TAICEP’s new Foundation Certificate program: a program which aims to train foreign credential evaluators on research, core values, best practices in the industry, and other key aspects of understanding and evaluating the nuances of educational documents. An ever-present theme of the conference was adapting to the digital age, with new techniques of authentication for official documents as it is becoming more challenging to detect fraud.

As we wrap up this year’s conference, our team is excited to bring some of the best practices and processes for evaluations to you. SpanTran had a wonderful experience sponsoring and attending TAICEP’s annual conference and we look forward to attending next year’s annual meeting in Vancouver!
